Government Support for Hackney Businesses

If like me, you have a business based in Hackney and you have it adversely affected by the Coronavirus, then there is support available from the government to help during these trying times.

The support can be Furloughing your staff or applying for a bounce-back loan of up to £50,000, which is interest-free in the first year and a flat 2.5% rate thereafter.

If you’re a sole trader or self-employed you will be entitled to a grant up to a certain percentage of your earnings up tp £2,500 a month over the past 3 years. All you have to do is provide your books for the last 3 years and have submitted a self-assessment form for the 2018-2019 tax year before April 20th, 2020.

There is some very helpful information on Hackney News that will guide you through the best way to apply for a grant for your business.

For more information please visit Hackney.gov   or HMRC

I believe the grant will reimburse in June for the last 3 months to March.

Hopefully, with the easing of lockdown restrictions, things will start to get back to some sort of normality soon, for us it will be getting back on the road and helping people pass their driving test.

Health is the most important thing here, so we can’t run before we can walk, but hopefully, by following this advice, your business will be able to survive and be operational in Hackney again soon.

Stay safe.
